Endless

I sit here
In pain
With so much sorrow
In my soul.

The inability...
Unwillingness
To let go,
But knowing I have too.

Fighting 
For an worthy cause
Is no longer just,
When self-sacrifice
Is required.

For it
Only leads to
An endless battle...
A war forever fought
On all fronts.

Constantly rebuilding
After every hit...
As internal conflict
Is dictated by
External forces...

So leaving
In midst of chaos
Without resolution
Is my only option.

For the only way
To end this war
Is to surrender...
Walk away...

No longer providing you
With the ammo you seek...
The one you need.
No longer resisting,
But rather accepting...

I lost...
And I'd forever lose...
For it isn't victory
You seek,
It is defeat.
